The Company

The business was started by Nick Kenward in 1996 and incorporated as a limited company in August 2003. It now operates in a number of business areas and is divided into two principal sections, Special Works and Commercial Projects. Special Works deals with Domestic, Equestrian and Environmental projects up to £100k, and Commercial Projects with all larger projects.

The company operates from offices situated on the Surrey West Sussex border, where a current staff of seven administers business activities. Projects are principally undertaken in the south east of the country, but opportunities elsewhere will be pursued if they compliment the business growth strategy of profitably doubling turnover every two years.

Kenward Groundworks currently employs 35 – 40 operatives and if necessary supplements the PAYE labour force with operatives sourced from companies who are able to provide CSCS certification and operate an appropriate Quality Systems Management scheme. The company owns its own plant and has recently put in place credit facilities to underpin continued plant and equipment investment.

We recognise the importance of health and safety in construction and therefore have developed a bespoke health and safety policy, which is supplemented by project specific risk assessments and method statements. As the company grows we will continually review all health and safety and quality assurance procedures to ensure best practice and customer satisfaction as well as demonstrating a policy of ‘continuous improvement’.

Our growth strategy seeks to expand the business over a number of disciplines to mitigate business risk and we are therefore keen to explore new areas of work with bona fide clients, especially those with whom we can potentially develop longer term working relationships.
